Aiphone SP-2570N 8-Inch Ceiling Speaker

The Aiphone SP-2570N is an indoor flush-mount ceiling speaker designed for paging, intercom, and voice communication applications. It can operate from a 25V or 70.7V paging amplifier using its built-in transformer, or it can be connected using its direct 8-ohm speaker tap to compatible Aiphone stations with an 8-ohm external speaker output.

Ideal IX-RS Classroom Configuration

For school classroom-to-administration communication, the SP-2570N is an excellent companion to the Aiphone IX-RS. The IX-RS provides an 8-ohm, 2-watt external speaker output, allowing the SP-2570N to be connected directly using its 8-ohm tap. This gives the classroom wider and more even audio coverage than relying on the IX-RS internal speaker alone.

A typical configuration can use an IX-RS in each classroom with the SP-2570N connected locally to its speaker output, while an Aiphone IX-MV7 at the administrative office serves as the master answering station over the IX / IXG network. The IX-MV7 communicates with the IX-RS over IP; the ceiling speaker is connected to the IX-RS, not directly to the IX-MV7.

Direct Connection to Aiphone IX-RS

Aiphone specifically documents the SP-2570N for use with an Aiphone station that provides an 8-ohm speaker output. For IX-RS applications, use the direct 8-ohm tap rather than the 25V or 70V transformer taps. The IX-RS external speaker output is rated at 8 ohms, 2 watts maximum.

25V / 70V Paging Applications

The SP-2570N can also be used with compatible distributed paging amplifiers. Transformer taps are provided for 25V and 70.7V systems with selectable power settings from approximately 0.312W to 5W depending on the line voltage and application.
